Med One Group named primary sponsor at first CHOICE Humanitarian Open Tournament

July 2015

Thanks to their generous donation to the CHOICE Humanitarian organization, Med One Group has furthered the cause of ending poverty for those living on less than $1.25 a day in the most remote areas of the world.

In late June, progress was made in the fight to end extreme poverty. Med One Group, a leasing and rental company located in Sandy, Utah, joined forces with leadership organization CHOICE Humanitarian to support the Golf To End Poverty charity golf tournament. Med One was the presenting sponsor at the event, which raised a total of over $82,000 to support those living on less than $1.25 a day.

The Golf To End Poverty tournament, hosted by golfer Mike Reid, took place at the Dye Canyon Golf Course in Park City, Utah. There were many other sponsors including the Francis W. Burton Foundation, Nu Skin, dōTERRA, and VCBO Architecture. The tournament ran in a scramble format and included on-course contests like a Hole-in-One that had cash prizes.

CHOICE Humanitarian is a non-profit organization founded in 1982 by Timothy Evans and James Mayfield. When Evans learned of a young girl in a Peruvian village who needlessly died after drinking contaminated water, he knew he needed to help. He teamed up with Mayfield, a professor at the University of Utah and an expert in rural development, to create CHOICE Humanitarian. This organization uses a leadership model to help people pull themselves out of poverty.

Tournament host and award-winning golfer Mike Reid said of the event: “I am hosting the CHOICE Humanitarian Open because I believe in the Leadership Model as a way to end extreme poverty. I am pleased to be part of this event and Golf to End Poverty.”

Med One Group looks forward to other such rewarding experiences in the future with organizations such as CHOICE Humanitarian. For more information visit www.medonegroup.com or www.choicehumanitarian.org.
