The Stryker IsoFlex mattress was designed to help mitigate the three contributors of skin breakdown: pressure, shear, and microclimate imbalance. The CoreGel technology redistributes pressure by buckling and absorbing the patient's weight, allow immersion and envelopment to take place. The ShearGel support layer moves freely with the patient to help minimize shear forces at the interface between the surface and the patient. To support the microclimate, heat, and humidity, the mattress provides a flow of air.
